About This Richland Reference

Richland County records do not all live in one place. County detention, police agencies, courts, and state corrections keep different material for different stages of a case. This privately operated reference identifies the official routes that were located, including the ASGDC custody search, records-request channels, and court lookup path. It does not publish booking-photo galleries or host official records.

Purpose and Scope

South Carolina provides routes to request non-exempt public records, but the right custodian depends on the record. In Richland County, ASGDC maintains county-detention material, the arresting agency may hold its own incident report, the court holds the case record, and the South Carolina Department of Corrections maintains a separate state-prison search for its current sentenced population. We assemble those official paths and their limits so a reader can start with the correct office.

We do not hold a jail roster, booking photo, arrest report, court file, or police database. No gallery is hosted here. A search result, booking entry, or charge describes an allegation or custody event, not guilt; the appropriate court record is the source for a later case outcome.

Resources Covered

The material is organized around the distinct record systems serving Richland County.

  • The county custody and booking-record path, including ASGDC's current-detainee search and County records requests.
  • Official court and Clerk routes for the status that follows a booking, along with the separate state-prison custody channel.
  • Most Wanted information that distinguishes official warrant contacts from a live public warrant roster.
  • City-specific routes for Columbia, Cayce, and Irmo, where arrest location and county boundaries can affect custody routing.

What We Cannot Provide

This is a private reference service. It is not affiliated with Richland County, the Richland County Sheriff's Department, Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, the South Carolina Department of Corrections, or any other government office. We cannot release, hold, transfer, or locate a person in custody. We cannot post bond, schedule a visit, file a government request, or give legal advice.

  • Only the relevant agency can confirm a current custody status or release.
  • Only the record custodian can decide what non-exempt material may be released.
  • Only a court can determine a case outcome or issue an order affecting a record.
  • Only an authorized office can accept official filings or payments.

Use the named government custodian for an official answer. A private reference cannot replace the jail, police department, Clerk, court, or corrections agency that created the record.

Search Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search widgets operated by independent providers. A query entered there is handled under that provider's terms and pricing. If a partner tool leads to a paid enrollment, we may receive a referral fee that helps support the reference. That arrangement does not give us control over a partner's results, availability, data practices, or charges.
