This private reference is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the agency or court that created the record for an official response.
Custody, Records, and Courts
Use the office that matches the record needed. ASGDC answers a current Richland County detention question, the Sheriff handles RCSD-held material, the County public-records channel is the route for County-held requests, and the Clerk holds filed criminal court materials. An Irmo or Cayce event may also require county-boundary confirmation before a jail search.
RCSD’s posted FOIA charges are $37 per hour for retrieval and redaction, $36 per archival box subject to increase, $5 per disc, and $0.15 per printed page. These RCSD figures do not apply to every other custodian. The County, Town of Irmo, City of Columbia, and other agencies use their own lawful schedules and request procedures.
- For the full Richland custody, booking-record, and court sequence, use the county records path.
- For a current sentenced state-prison record, use the official SCDC inmate search, not ASGDC.
- For federal custody, the BOP Inmate Locator is a separate federal system.
- For current or recent ICE custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System under its stated eligibility rules.
- For a non-emergency tip, Crime Stoppers of the Midlands and P3 Tips are reporting routes, not a custody or warrant-clearing service. An emergency requires 911.
